CaRe Members Participated in RISE 5.0 Activities and CIAA 2026 in Chennai, India

CaRe members Prof. Dr. Poom Kumam and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supak Phiangsungnoen participated in activities under the Erasmus+ CBHE RISE 5.0 initiative in Chennai, India, from September 5-9, 2026. As part of the programme, they participated in the International Conference on Computational Intelligence, Agentic AI & Automation (CIAA 2026), held at Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, India, from September 7-9, 2026. Organised under the RISE 5.0 initiative, the conference brought together researchers, academics, industry experts, and students to exchange knowledge and perspectives on Artificial Intelligence, Agentic AI, Automation and Robotics, Data Analytics, Optimization, and Sustainable Technologies. The programme also featured project meetings and discussions related to the RISE 5.0 Erasmus+ initiative, providing opportunities to strengthen international collaboration and explore future directions for research and education.
The visit also provided valuable opportunities for academic and industry engagement. Prof. Dr. Poom Kumam and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supak Phiangsungnoen delivered talks and interacted with students on mathematics and research, while engaging in research discussions with emerging researchers. They also observed an AI-focused hackathon involving more than 1,000 teams from leading companies, visited laboratories at Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, and explored industrial applications through a visit to the Danfoss Campus in Chennai, located in Oragadam, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu. The Danfoss Campus features manufacturing facilities, R&D laboratories, software and control engineering, and application development facilities, offering valuable insights into the connection between advanced research, technology development, and real-world industrial applications.
