CaRe Members Welcomed the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to Visit the Real Lab at KMITL

On July 3, 2026, Prof. Dr. Surin Khomfoi and Asst. Prof. Dr. Teeraphon Phophongviwat, members of the CaRe Global Network, welcomed Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, during his visit to the Real Lab at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). The visit featured presentations on the laboratory’s cutting-edge research in advanced energy systems, including Smart Microgrids, EV Infrastructure, Green Hydrogen, power electronics devices based on SiC and GaN technologies, and diagnostic techniques—all developed to support the global Energy Transition era.

During the visit, the researchers and the Minister engaged in an insightful discussion on accelerating the translation of research into practical products and industrial innovations. The Minister expressed strong interest in promoting mission-oriented research, supporting new funding mechanisms, and helping remove barriers that hinder commercialization. The discussion also explored future challenges, including the potential development of patented system integration cards toward on-chip technologies. His constructive feedback and commitment to supporting researchers in bringing innovations to market underscored the Ministry’s vision of fostering impactful research with real-world applications.
