Research Spotlight: Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells Developed
Jul 05, 2026
The CaRe Global Network proudly highlights the innovative research of Asst. Prof. Dr. Nopporn Rujisamphan, a CaRe member and Head of the Interface & Surface Characterization Laboratory, Faculty of Science, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). His research team is developing next-generation flexible perovskite solar cells that are lightweight, cost-effective, and adaptable to a wide range of surfaces, offering a promising solution for sustainable energy technologies.
Driven by the vision of strengthening Thailand’s technological capabilities, the research aims to enable the country not only to utilize imported solar technologies but also to develop and manufacture advanced solar cells domestically. By employing perovskite materials, which can be produced through low-cost chemical processes, the team is creating solar cells with high flexibility, reduced weight, and broad application potential. This pioneering work represents an important step toward enhancing Thailand’s clean energy innovation and supporting the global transition to renewable energy.
